Under the PMAY Gramin program, the Andhra government will build over 53,000 homes for extremely impoverished tribal people. The program was launched on January 15, 2024.

January 19, 2024: The Andhra Pradesh government plans to give free houses to the state’s impoverished tribal population as part of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin. The PMAY Gramin program has allotted more than 53,000 houses. The Prime Minister launched the distribution program on January 15, 2024, even though the allocation began on January 10, 2024.

High-ranking Andhra Pradesh government officials claim that the state government is compiling a PMAY List of the state’s impoverished tribal population. The state government intends to provide the extremely poor tribal people with free houses, as per the PMAY List created for the impoverished tribal people of eight districts. A total of 98 mandals spread across eight state districts are selected for this program. Most of the tribe members selected for this program are destitute.

About PMAY List

The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), which was introduced in 2015, helps the underprivileged obtain inexpensive homes in both urban and rural areas of India. Up until 2024, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin (PMAY G) is still in effect. Additionally, 2.95 crore houses are now the intended total number of pucca houses. The finance minister has suggested in the Union Budget 2022–2023 that more than 80 lakh affordable homes be built and delivered by 2023 in order to support the “Housing for All” initiative.

This is a step-by-step guide to verify your name in the PMAY list of 2022–2023 beneficiaries if you are eligible for this scheme. You need to have a reference number after completing the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana PMAY application process. To check the status of a PMAY application, the aforementioned reference number would be needed.

PMAY Update

List of PMAY: How is the List Prepared?

The Socia-Economic and Caste Census 2011, or SECC 2011, is the first paperless enumeration in over 640 districts to provide financial support to the economically disadvantaged group. This facilitates the homeownership of those who fit into this economic category. When selecting and shortlisting eligible beneficiaries to add to the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana List (PMAY List), the Indian government takes SECC 2011 into account. The government also solicits input from the relevant tehsils and panchayats before deciding on the final Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana list (PMAY List).

The state government has received the following directives from the federal government regarding the creation of the PMAY List:

The funds will be electronically transferred to the beneficiary bank accounts under the portion of the subsidy for beneficiary-led individual house construction or enhancement/central assistance transferred to States/UTs. Before authorizing projects for individual construction, states and union territories must compile an electronic list of qualified beneficiaries who possess a valid bank account number, a certificate of house ownership from the Revenue Authority of the beneficiary’s home district, or an Aadhaar, Voter ID Card, or any other unique identification number.

Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana’s (PMAY-G) “Awaas” mobile application

Affordable housing in rural areas has greatly improved thanks to the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin. Apart from offering reasonably priced housing, the Union government has also launched a cutting-edge mobile application named ‘Awaas’. With this app, you can monitor the implementation status of the PMAY scheme as well as the status of the subsidies. The Awaas app can be used for tasks like uploading the current house status, beneficiary search, FTO tracking, inspection login, and beneficiary login. The National Informatics Center (NIC) is the team behind the development of the Awaas mobile app.

The Key Features of the PMAY ‘Awaas’ Mobile App

Below are some of the main attributes and advantages of the PMAY ‘Awaas’ mobile application.

Quick Login: In order to view their PMAY details, users must first register on the mobile app.

After registering, all they need to do is enter the one-time password that was texted to their registered phone number to access the mobile app.

Detailed Information: Users of the mobile app can view comprehensive details about the housing construction process. This enables them to receive the necessary financial assistance on schedule and to remain informed about PMAY progress in real time.

High-quality images, geolocation data, and time stamps of houses are captured by the “Awaas” mobile application. This makes it easier for customers to understand exactly what is being offered.

Simple Navigation: All of the online services are easily accessible with just a few clicks on the PMAY mobile app, which is simple to use. This makes it simple for users to find the relevant section and quickly obtain the information they need.

Data Security: Not every user of this mobile app has access to every piece of information. For instance, compared to the designated house inspectors who examine the construction stages under the PMAY scheme, applicants have less access to services.

PMAY-funded Light House project

The “Light House Project” is a PMAY initiative launched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs with the goal of promoting sustainable construction technologies. The ministry hopes to identify and mainstream numerous cutting-edge construction technologies under this. The Lighthouse Project seeks to advance creative, eco-friendly, and disaster-resistant building technologies.

Model housing projects, or LHPs, are built using alternative technologies that have been selected and found to be compatible with the local geoclimate and hazards. These projects demonstrate how to construct ready-to-live-in homes more swiftly, affordably, and sustainably without sacrificing building quality. Six technology suppliers have won the right to construct six distinct Light House Projects (LHPs) in six different locations across six states after a rigorous online bidding process. The construction period for these projects will not exceed 12 months from the date of site transfer to the construction agency, provided that all relevant statutory permissions have been obtained.

PMAY List Previous Updates

Under PMAY-Urban, Maharashtra will construct 3.75 lakh homes.

In an impending move, the Maharashtra government has chosen to construct more than 3.75 lakh homes by December 2024 under the PMAY program. Of the 15.82 lakh units approved for the state in 2015, 6.93 lakh, or 44%, have been completed. These 3.75 lakh units are a portion of that total. In the Center’s attempt to lessen the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, the original deadline for finishing the construction of the 2015 target was changed from 2022 to 2024. Up to 2.49 lakh homes are in various stages of construction in addition to the 6.93 lakh housing units that were completed as of December of last year. The scheme was approved in March of last year, and 1.25 lakh more houses are currently being worked on.

PMAY provides an additional 1.44 lakh houses for Uttar Pradesh.

Uttar Pradesh recently received approval to proceed with the construction of an additional 1.41 lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, or PMAY. With this distribution, 21,68,674 more houses were allotted to the states under the PMAY List (Awas Plus List).

The flagship program of the Union government, known as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, or PMAY, provides a subsidy on the home loan taken out to purchase a house. By 2024, the extra units would be built and the construction would conclude.

Initially, the beneficiaries were identified using the Socio Economic Caste Census (SECC 2011). But using the “Awaas+” survey, the union government began to identify the recipients.

A total of 34.72 lakh houses have been allotted to Uttar Pradesh, according to the list of beneficiaries (PMAY List). The total allocation has increased to 36.16 lakh houses with this additional allocation. The target under the Awaas Plus list, also known as the PMA list, is 21,68,674 of these.
